Driving innovation: Successful energy use cases in Madrid and Bilbao

Explore the new eNeuron infopack – two effective solutions for the future of energy management.

The new eNeuron infopack is now available, highlighting two successful use cases that demonstrate the project’s commitment to innovation in energy management. This publication outlines the methodology for selecting scenarios and describes the testing processes that provided valuable insights from simulations carried out in Madrid and Bilbao.

In Madrid, at Ciudad Universitaria, the simulation explored PV generation, aerothermal heating, and energy-sharing among buildings, concluding that electric heating with heat pumps is the most cost-effective solution.

In Bilbao, the Zorrotzaurre district use case focused on using surplus renewable energy to charge electric vehicles (EVs), aiming to reduce grid congestion and costs by optimizing charging station placement and managing EV and energy storage system patterns.

Both use cases have successfully met key performance targets, offering practical recommendations that demonstrate their potential for broader application in ongoing energy transition efforts.
