The info packs cover self-sufficiency, 12 use cases, innovation and replicability for sustainable energy communities.
The EU-funded eNeuron project provides practical tools, methodologies, and resources designed to optimise the design and operation of integrated local energy communities (ILECs). Through a series of info packs, eNeuron shares key insights and outcomes from its activities, supporting the effective deployment and scaling of integrated energy communities.
The first info pack, “Optimising local energy communities on the path to self-sufficiency”, presents an overview of four pilot sites—located in Poland, Norway, Portugal, and Italy—and outlines a framework for designing and operating local multi-carrier systems using Energy Hubs. This approach fosters collaboration among energy providers, operators, community members, and technology experts.
Moving from pilot site applications to a broader perspective, the “Showcasing eNeuron’s 12 use cases: Insights and methodology” info pack outlines twelve generic use cases developed using the IEC 62559-2 methodology. This approach ensures structured definitions, alignment with project goals, and a strong foundation for testing and validation across diverse contexts.
The third info pack, “Driving innovation: Successful energy use cases in Madrid and Bilbao”, highlights the real-world application of two generic use cases. These examples confirm the feasibility and robustness of eNeuron’s solutions, meeting key performance targets and providing practical recommendations for wider implementation.
Finally, the “Evaluating eNeuron KERs for scalability and replicability across Europe” info pack evaluates the scalability and replicability of the project’s key exploitable results (KERs) using the Smart Grid Architecture Model (SGAM) framework. It identifies key challenges and offers insights for adapting solutions across diverse European contexts.
Together, these resources provide a comprehensive toolkit for developing efficient, self-sufficient ILECs.
