European Sustainable Energy Week: the eNeuron experience

The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is the biggest annual event dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe. It is organized by the European Climate, Infrastructure, and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and the Directorate-General for Energy.

The 17th edition of the Policy Conference took place in a hybrid format in Brussels and online on 20-22 June 2023 under the theme of ‘Accelerating the clean energy transition – towards lower bills and greater skills.’

The eNeuron project was represented by the project’s Coordinator, Dr. Marialaura Di Somma of ENEA, who participated in the session titled “How can policymakers empower communities to engage in social innovation projects?”

Empowering communities to engage in social innovation projects requires a comprehensive and inclusive approach by policymakers. Dr. Di Somma presented strategies to foster community engagement during the dedicated session.
Following the eNeuron experience acquired so far, and the knowledge from the Working Group on Consumer and Citizen Engagement of the BRIDGE initiative, policymakers can create an enabling environment that empowers communities to engage in social innovation projects, fostering sustainable social change and addressing gathering needs effectively.
